My sister hosted a "coffee and jazz" event for a friend of ours... we had a good time...and probably too much coffee! The pictures speak for themselves! :D

Notes for the Homeless

so do you ever have those little nudges? ... to go down this street instead of the other one? or go to this store instead of the other one? just little things that seem so simple but end up making a difference in your day.... or someone elses?

The other day on the way home from work I felt a littl enudge to get off at a certain exit... so i did. And at the bottm of the exit is a homeless man with a sign that sad "Anything is a blessing." 

I felt for him and so as I was turning I had all these whirlwinds of thoughts!....

- go to mcds and get your lunch and share it with him

- i dont want to just give him food I want him to know that Jesus is why I have compassion for him

- how i used to carry snackwells breakfast bars in my car for occassions such as this but didnt have them anymore.

- then the idea hit me that I could print out little notes to go ON the snackwells bars so when I gave it to them even if i didn't have a chance to talk to them.... the note could speak to them for me!

SO.... i pulled into mcds and got some food.... whizzed back around to where he was and pulled over and got his attention and he came over and said "thank you"... and i mustered up "no problem"... he looked so sad it surprised me and "no proplem" was all that came out. 

So....now... i am brainstorming about this idea... the note for the homeless on food we can keep in our cars at all times for the purpose of giving it to them when we see them. A note with a bible verse, a prayer for them, the Gospel msg, etc!

a night out with friends

We met some friends to eat a quick bite then went to see Shrek... welllll we TRIED to see Shrek. Buying the tickets was an ordeal because the little microphones they use to talk thru the windows at you kept giving feedback...so when he told us Shrek was sold out....but there was another one at 8:30... apparently that wasnt what he really said. Even tho Dwight and I both heard that! ha. Soooo we ended up seeig Toy Story 3 in 3D and it was really good. Very funny. :) ....Us in the 3D glasses....also Very Funny! .....

What to write today... ? :)

I am going to try and post everyday...welllll maybe every other day! ha! I just get so caught up in work...life...I forget to post. so here goes...

recently i have found myself with so much on my plate...so many thoughts....ideas in my head! I can't keep them all straight and it is overwhelming me sometimes. I have so many GOOD things I want to do but... if i try to do them all at the same time...none of them will turn out good! make sense? I need to pick a few and DO THOSE and then move on to the rest on my list. But its hard because all of them feel so important to me.

Here are some items on my list:

- get info from Baton Rouge churches websites to go on my website: http://www.RedStickChristians.info ....but when I go to do this....I am hit with another item to add to my list...
- Offer my website services to Baton Rouge area churches so that they HAVE one I can use to link to my website! ...and the ones that DO have a website...most don't have an RSS feed and their sites are not...user friendly or up to date.
- I want to keep BOA (http://www.breakdownofamerica.com ) up to date and relevant.
- To keep BOA up to date an relevant I must be improving it all the time. ( right now i want to clean up the category area at the top and make room for ads on the right...)
- I am working with some friends to get an ad package together to move all of our sites forward. In order to do this I must be able to have ads on the website and be able to maintain and keep accounts for them. This means i have to figure out if my site can handle it and what sizes!
- laundry...and cleaning my room! (something else that has gotten neglected lately)
- clean out my truck
- upload images to bigstock.com so i can sell more stock images.
- help Dwight get his house ready to sell

Dwight came by to see me at work! Now the guys have to believe he exists!

Its been a looong time....too long.

I really did want to keep up with this blog more. Lots has been going on. To name a few things...

- Paid off my truck! woohoo

- laid a brick patio for my mom at our house. 

- Paid off 2 credit cards

- Got a new cell phone - mytouch - love it. 

- BOA is now getting atleast 500 hits a day! :D ( http://www.breakdownofamerica.com )

that is just a FEW things...I am still really involved with the Baton Rouge Tea Party and that is one reason I dont keep up with this blog more! ha. I need to find a way to integrate and update this blog more! comment and let me know you are readin still! ;) 

I started a Daily Bible devotional... I will try to post about that.

Dwight and I are reading "Crazy Love" with our couples bible study... No it isnt about dating...or our relationship.... its about being Crazy in Love with God. Which... in reality...does affect our relationship... :) But you know what I mean. :)

bible started up again! :D

Our young committeds bible study group started again last night. It was great. A few new couples came. We had about 10 couples all together. We broke into pairs and "interviewed" the other couple. The we shared what we learned about the other couple with the group. We interviewed Stephanie and Chad. They are a great couple. When talking about us Chad said "Dwight is really involved with the Baton Rouge Tea Party... get used to hearing that you will hear it a lot!.... They met thru ... the Baton Rouge Tea Party... and for fun they like to do stuff wiiiith..... (the crowd joins in) "the Baton Rouge Tea Party!" It was funny!

GEAUX SAINTS!

THE SAINTS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!! What an amazing game! What a great day!  I picked up Dwight from the airport (he was in Dallas the whole weekend for a training with American Majority) and we made it to my house in time to see kick off! And that was only because he was able to move his flight to an earlier one! So... Glad to have him back AND then the Saints win and are going to the Superbowl!!!! :D good day!
